| Why is replication so important for development cooperation? |
Successful development projects demand time and funding. But nowadays, funding for reaching humanitarian goals is insufficient and the unmet human basic needs for food, clean drinking water, shelter, sanitation, education, health and reproductive health are increasing. As the former U.S. president Bill Clinton said: “The challenge of the 21st Century is to find what works and scale it up”.
There is no single blueprint for conservation and development projects since cultural, social and economic systems as well as ecological conditions differ widely. Therefore, replication is a matter of careful adoption and modification. The important next step will be to learn how the various project components can be replicated in other regions and which modifications have to be made. This is the purpose of this website.

| Social Franchise Models |
The final goal of this initiave is to develop "Social Franchise Models" for each component of conservation and development projects.
Social Franchise Models with standardized methods and materials offer a solution for conservation and development projects. Some examples like Youth Centers for Health Education already exist. Other Franchise Model components could be safe drinking water, energy supply, income generation, reproductive health or education.
